Michael has more than 20 years’ experience working with communities across regional Australia, Asia, and the Pacific. His knowledge and skillset are diverse, spanning natural resource management, market and enterprise development, disaster recovery programs, agricultural impact assessment, and social and environmental safeguards.
Coming from a family-farming background and with first-hand experience of farming in regional Australia, Michael has an authentic appreciation of rural agricultural communities and the challenges they face. He uses this insight to lead participatory consultations with a focus on understanding project impacts and community priorities, to support sustainable economic and infrastructure development.
Taking a down-to-earth and practical approach, Michael is highly experienced at working with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life, including indigenous communities and those who are socially and financially disadvantaged. He builds trusted relationships and is adept at delivering community-led solutions that strengthen social resilience and prioritise environmental stewardship.
